For my garland, I hung snowflake ornaments for some added dimension (I see in my picture my one snowflake is crooked..I'm going to go fix it). I also added berries, burlap, bird houses, and Cardinal bird ornaments to the garland.
I did not have another garland on hand, so I decided to reuse a Christmas tree I was not using for the greenery. I just poked the metal sticks in and was quite amazed on how it looked and how easy it was to work with.
My BELIEVE sign was an attached word, but I took it apart because it was so tiny and short. So, I decided to put burlap on a piece of scrap wood and hot glue the letters and the holly's to the upper corners of the sign to give it the added height I needed and to spread the words out more.
I thought Mr. Santa needed some red, so I added some berries to him, as well, as the garland.
I added Christmas greenery, berries, and lighted branches to my "go to" vase from Target.
All of my favorite things during the Christmas season are on my mantle this year. Santa's, plaid, Cardinal birds, and poinsettias.
Maybe, next time I'll light the fire during my picture taking instead of letting it burn out.
Thanks for stopping by,
Dawn

Thanks Heidi. I'm so happy you found me. My house has been so crazy, I never even posted all my other holiday decorating.
Love your mantel and that Santa painting is fabulous. Thanks so much for following my blog and I am your newest follower also. I hope you will join my Table Top Tuesday party sometime. It's a linky party where we showoff any kind of vignette on any surface. Even this mantel would have been perfect. Thanks again and hope to see you there. Hugs, Marty
